MDG Projects: Ekiti signs MOU with local artisans to produce N59m desks, chairs

Ekiti State government on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding with members of Furniture and Welder Associations in the state on the supply of 1,250 Pupils' Desk and Chairs for N59 milion.
The event which took place at the Lady Jibowu Hall of the government
house had in attendance Chief of Staff to Ekiti State Governor, Barr.
Dipo Anisulowo, Ekiti MDG Secretary and Focal Person, Mr. Francis
Adumo, Chairman of Association of Ekiti Artisans, Mr. J.O Adu,
Chairman of Ekiti Furniture Association, Mr. M.A Adeyemo, Chairman of
Ekiti Welders' Association, Pastor John Adekola and other members of
the furniture and welders association from across Ekiti State.

Dipo Anisulowo in his remarks appreciated the furniture association
for doing the government proud in previous engagements, he recalled
how Governor Fayose impressed it upon him that on no account should
the furniture jobs be given to artisans outside Ekiti. "You have not
disappointed us, the jobs you did last year was successful, the end
users have not complained", he said. Expressing hope that welders who
are involved in the execution of the present project will not
disappoint as well, Anisulowo urged them to work to specification
adding that Mr. Governor has directed that local carpenters be
involved when projects that has to do with roofing comes on board.

Mr. J.O Adu, Chairman, Association of Ekiti Artisans who said the
association has never been so recognized by any other administration
described the opportunity as another landmark in the Ayodele Fayose
administration after the ten million naira revolving loan facility
made available to the association a week ago. He admonished members to
justify the confidence reposed in them by working to specification.

Chairman of Ekiti Furniture Association, Mr. M.A Adeyemo in his
comment described governor Ayodele Fayose as a promise keeper, he
thanked the governor for fulfilling his promise of patronizing local
contractors. Pastor John Adekola, Chairman of Ekiti Welders'
Association thanked Barrister Anisulowo for the opportunity given
them, he described Governor Ayodele Fayose as a Yes man who doesn't
renege on promises.

Secretary and Focal Person for Ekiti MDG Project, Mr. Francis Adumo
while appreciating participants reiterated governor Ayo Fayose's
passion for quality, he also stressed that there should be no
deviation from specification and standard.
