Wednesday, January 09, 2013

OGUN SWEARS-IN 48 NEW CUSTOMARY COURT JUDGES             As part of measures to ensure quick dispensation of justice in Ogun State, 48 newly appointed Customary Court Judges have been sworn in the State.

Performing the swearing-in ceremony today at the conference Hall, High Court Complex Isabo in Abeokuta, the State Chief Judge, Justice Olatokunbo Olopade, advised the new appointees to acquaint themselves with the provisions of the customary court laws and other statutes in order to promote judicial services in the State.

Justice Olopade reminded them that the Judiciary in the State has zero tolerance for corruption and all other acts of indiscipline, admonishing them to be above board in the discharge of their duties at all times.

She charged them to ensure that cases brought before them are quickly dispensed with, but done painstakingly and without fear or favour, affection or ill-will.

Responding on behalf of her colleague Customary Court Judges, Mrs Helen Iyabode Majekodunmi, expressed appreciation to the State Government for the opportunity given them to serve and promised not to engage in any act that could bring the Judiciary into disrepute.
