Fayemi condemns UNIPORT killings, calls for justice
Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has condemned the gruesome killings of four students of the University of Port Harcourt in Aluu community, Rivers State, on Friday.
The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Yinka Oyebode, on Wednesday described the killings of the students as barbaric, wicked, unacceptable and reprehensible.
Fayemi deplored the resort to jungle justice, maintaining that nobody had the right to take another person’s life under any guise.
He said the idea of people taking laws into their hands should be discouraged, adding that the laws of the country were enough to deal with any situation.
He called on security agencies in the country to do everything possible to fish out perpetrators of the dastardly act and bring them to justice.
