Once again, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, AIG Abdulmajid Ali has directed the Commissioners of Police in Lagos and Ogun States and Anti Crime teams at the zonal command headquarters Lagos, to dislodge and flush out land grabbers or Ajagungbales who have been creating crises in some parts of the Zone.
The police boss gave this directive on Monday while addressing senior officers and some stakeholders in his office at Onikan Lagos.
AIG Abdulmajid Ali confirmed that since his assumption of office as the AIG Zone 2 on Monday, 1st August,2016, he has received more than 300(Three Hundred) petitions against land grabbers and Ajagungbales, the trend he described as unacceptable.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police has also directed that any land grabbers or Ajagungbales caught in the act or planning to cause brouhaha in any part of the Zone, be arrested and treated like armed robbers, kidnappers or murderers as their criminal actions are tailored to these capital offenses.
AIG Ali however promised to work with the governments of Lagos and Ogun States to fully enforce any law or legislation made to checkmate land grabbers and their criminal acts within the zone. He urged members of the public to report any illegal act of these elements called Ajagungbales to him as he would not tolerate them in anyway.
