Members of Social Democratic Party, (SDP) have been tasked to brace up to wrestle power from the ruling All progressive Party come 2019 both
at the National and State levels.

The Chairman of the newly constituted SDP Executive Council in Osun State gave this challenge while addressing at the State Congress of the party in Osogbo, the state capital.

Ishola who expressed optimism that SDP, despite its position among the opposition parties in the country would unseat the present government
urged member of the party to embrace peace and ensure unity among
themselves, saying such ambition could only be achieved in a peaceful
atmosphere.

He charged the members of the Party in Osogbo and across the
country on the need to respect party constitution and work assiduously
as a team to take over the government both in the state and at the
federal level.

"Party members need to cooperate with one another and work as a team
in order to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressive Congress
(APC) at the National and the State level.

"This feat can be realised only if and when members of the party
maintain party discipline at all time, respect the constitution and
accept party supremacy," he said.

The newly elected Chairman further charged party members to be
tolerant in the cause of working for the victory of the party, this
according to him could be accomplished when members eschew bitterness
and provocation from the opposing political parties and remain dogged
in achieving success.

Ishola assured the teaming members of the party of his readiness and
preparedness to reposition the party as the ready alternative to the
ruling party in Osun State.

Debunking the alleged involvement of the National Chairman of the
party in the 2.1 billion dollar arms procurements fund diversion, Ishola said "Chief Olu Falae was paid money based on intra-party agreement after Chief Tony Anenih agreed to the three terms of the SDP and former president Goodluck Jonathan was adopted as the presidential candidate to be voted for by SDP."

Ishola stressed that at no time did the party had any link with the former Chief of Defence Staff, Colonel Sambo Dasuki.

A twenty three-man Executive Council include Mr Ademola Ishola as
Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Babatunde, Vice Chairman; Elder Agbefemi S.,
Secretary and Alhaji Kunle Kafsat as Tresurer among others
