500 people get vocational training

A non-governmental organisation, the Shelter of Grace Foundation, has trained over 500 people in 15 different vocations in Lagos.

The people got training on hairdressing, barbing, farming, fashion, styling, make-up, carpentry and soap making among others.

According to a representative of the group, Bunmi Olayiwola, the NGO embarked on the project to provide a means of livelihood to the less privileged.

She explained the hostess of the group, Mrs. Folashade Oba, believed that empowering people was a tool to enhance development in the society.

She said, “We are training more than 500 people in more than 15 vocations today. Our aim is to eradicate poverty in the country.”

The participants and residents of the community commended the organisers of the programme.
One of the participants, Paul Ilori, said, “The programme is very helpful. It will help to solve the problem of unemployment.”
