Prophet Kayode Abiara
Nigeria is sick, needs prayers – Abiara
The
General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church WorldWide, Prophet
Samuel Abiara, has lamented that leaders in the country do not protect
the interest of the masses.
He explained that poor leadership was responsible for the challenges facing the country, saying that the “country is sick”.
Abiara said this at the beginning of a
three-day church programme at the Joseph Ayo Babalola International
Miracle Camp, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, on Wednesday.
He said, “You don’t need a soothsayer to
tell you that Nigeria is sick. We are sick in all areas. There are
unjust killings of people and deaths everywhere and I must tell you that
people are hungry. Our leaders are busy fighting one another instead of
coming together to make Nigeria better.
“Many of our leaders don’t have time
for the common man. There is a need for us to begin to ensure that the
common man does not continue to suffer. We need to pray for this nation
because this nation is sick. Government is sick; if anybody says
government is not sick, it is a lie. This nation needs prayer.”
While dismissing pastors, who claimed to
have visited heaven and returned, Abiara warned “unrecognised
churches” and people to stop parading themselves as members of the CAC
church.
He added, “For those pastors, who claim
to be part of us and have given the church a bad name; the Bible has not
left us in darkness. The Bible says in the last days, there will be
evil people who will corrupt the faith. The church authority is doing
something to arrest the drift. Soon, you will see us take action on
people like that.”

er-spacing:-.3pt’>The state government has started schools
reclassification and restructuring whereby primary and secondary school
level of education are divided into elementary, middle and high schools.
Schools are being merged in the
process and this has attracted severe criticisms from some quarters
especially from Christians who believe that the policy would erase their
Christian heritage.
Specifically, members of the Osun
Baptist Conference had resisted the attempt to merge male students with
the female students of the Baptist Girls High School, Osobo on October
2.
They also protested the merging of hijab-wearing pupils with the pupils of Baptist High School, Iwo.
But Aregbesola has already allayed
fears of Christians and other religious groups about the merger saying “
no single group, organisation individual, religious or social body’s
interest would suffer as a result of the ongoing re-classification and
reform.”
The governor in a statement by his media
aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, urged the people of the state “to
discountenance any untrue and baseless insinuation some anti-progress
elements may be spreading across the state.”
He explained that the new policy was not
aimed at erasing Christian heritage but was one of the efforts being
made by the state government to transform the education sector in the
state.
