Friday, June 03, 2016

The 2015 best graduating student of Institute of Chattered Accountants (ICAN), Idris Ayinde, has ‎advised pupils, who just completed their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, not to be distracted by social activities in the society.

Ayinde gave the advice while speaking at a seminar tagged 'SSS three get-together' organised by the Lagos Mainland Area Council of the Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria.

Ayinde, who thrilled the pupils with his achievements, told the pupils that they must be focused to achieve their plans in life.

According to the chattered accountant, it takes hardwork and ability to resist challenges to be great.

"As school leavers, you should be focused and have a plan for the future. Initially, I had a plan of graduating with 4.60 grade point at University of Lagos, but with hardwork an focus I got more than that," he added.

One of the speakers at the event, Mr. Ridwan Olanite, challenged the pupils to ensure that they suceed in life.

While speaking on the theme of the programme, 'The Springboard', Olanite highlighted qualities expected of a school leaver.

"Knowledge, integrity, focus, decisiveness, ambition, sacrifice, patience, perseverance an public relations are essential basics you need. Success will be the end point of anyone that posses these qualities," he added.

One of the organisers, Habeeb Audu, explained that the programme was organised to ensure the pupils do not lose focus.

Audu, who doubles as the President of MSSN Lagos Mainland Area Council, urged the pupils to ensure that they take their education as a priority.

He said, "This is one of the ways we give back to the society. We understand that many of them just left secondary school and need guidance on what next to do. Our aim is to ensure that many of them are not distracted with activities in the society."

The participants, however, commended the organisers of the programme.

Most of them said they were motivated with the experience of the speakers and promised not to forget what they learnt from the programme.
