Firm trains 300 corps members on entrepreneurship

fewer than 300 corps members are targeted to benefit from the Breeding
Enterprise Future and National Youth Service Corps Enterprise Boot Camp
Programmes organised by a firm, Start-up Hub.
The Director of the firm, Mr. Chibuike
Aguene, said this during a Global Entrepreneurship Week organised to
provide acceleration to the growth process of start-ups in Nigeria.
He said, “Through our Breeding
Enterprise Future Program, we are partnering with Enterprise Development
Centre of the Pan African University, Small and Medium Enterprise
Development Agency of Nigeria, and Lagos State National Youth Service
Corp to train some selected 300 NYSC members. This is exclusively
designed to expose NYSC members to the venturing process while building
their capacity in entrepreneurship.”
“This support will give the beneficiaries access to a
mentor/business advisor, intensive capacity building using Build Your Business
Modules, shared services; office space, internet access, product development
and commercialization, market access, networking opportunities, international
exposure and access to Investment Opportunities.”
Augene explained that the training was geared towards
reducing unemployment in the country.
He added, “Startup Hub’s partnership with the NYSC is to
deliberately breed entrepreneurs among Corp members that will create jobs and
further grow Nigeria’s Small and Medium Enterprise sector. The program will set the foundation to
harvest creative business ideas that will be accelerated to create wealth and
employment opportunities.
“ Also, it is a robust capacity building program that helps
corps members to understand opportunities for startups in various sectors of
the economy, critical component of developing a winning business plan, funding
options for startups, how to access market opportunities and use of the Nigeria
SMEtoolkit resources.”
