Firm trains 300 corps members on entrepreneurship

No fewer than 300 corps members are targeted to benefit from the Breeding Enterprise Future and National Youth Service Corps Enterprise Boot Camp Programmes organised by a firm, Start-up Hub.

The Director of the firm, Mr. Chibuike Aguene, said this during a Global Entrepreneurship Week organised to provide acceleration to the growth process of start-ups in Nigeria.

He said, “Through our Breeding Enterprise Future Program, we are partnering with Enterprise Development Centre of the Pan African University, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria, and Lagos State National Youth Service Corp to train some selected 300 NYSC members. This is exclusively designed to expose NYSC members to the venturing process while building their capacity in entrepreneurship.”

“This support will give the beneficiaries access to a mentor/business advisor, intensive capacity building using Build Your Business Modules, shared services; office space, internet access, product development and commercialization, market access, networking opportunities, international exposure and access to Investment Opportunities.”

Augene explained that the training was geared towards reducing unemployment in the country.

He added, “Startup Hub’s partnership with the NYSC is to deliberately breed entrepreneurs among Corp members that will create jobs and further grow Nigeria’s Small and Medium Enterprise sector.  The program will set the foundation to harvest creative business ideas that will be accelerated to create wealth and employment opportunities.

“ Also, it is a robust capacity building program that helps corps members to understand opportunities for startups in various sectors of the economy, critical component of developing a winning business plan, funding options for startups, how to access market opportunities and use of the Nigeria SMEtoolkit resources.”
