Police rescue Chinese’, places kidnappers den on surveillance



The Ogun State Police Command has rescued two Chinese Nationals and placed their kidnappers den on surveillance.

The Chinese nationals, Song Jiang She,m, and Zhang Wen Xue are staff of Lee Group of Company, Ikorodu Lagos.

They were kidnapped in Odongunya area of Ikorodu, Lagos State  but  rescued unhurt in Shotunbo village near  Sagamu in Sagamu Local Government area of Ogun State  by a team of policemen attached to Ogijo divisional headquarters led by the Divisional Police Office  SP Toyin Afolaogun.

The Chinese were rescued after a gun duel between the police and the hoodlums, according to a statement on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi.

He said, “The Chinese nationals, Song Jiang She,m, and Zhang Wen Xue,m,  were rescued unhurt  after police had engaged the men and one of the kidnappers who  was fatally injured got arrested  while others fled with bullet wounds.

 “Three  locally made pistols with some live cartridges, masks, some handsets, dangerous weapons  and their operational car BMW with Reg No CK 737 LSD were recovered from the kidnappers.”

He explained that the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye has ordered the kidnappers’ den on surveillance to show the commitment of the command to prevent crime in the state.

He said, “The commissioner of police Ogun State has ordered the kidnappers' den to  be cordoned off and placed under surveillance for further investigation and prevent the hoodlums from using the remote building that is almost three kilometres off  sagamu/Ikorodu road  for similar operation.

“This is to show the command commitment to make Ogun state hot for any hoodlums or group of miscreants who may want to cause any untold hardship on the good people of the state.”

Okoye, in the statement, appealed to the general public to alert the police in case they came across anyone around with suspected bullet wounds for necessary action and contact the police headquarters on 08123822910 or 08037168147.
