ETISALAT MERIT AWARD: 10 OAU STUDENTS AS BENEFICIARIES

Ten students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, have benefitted from a Merit Award Scheme initiated and funded by one of the GSM service providers in Nigeria – ETISALAT.

The students, eight of whom were in part two (2) in different departments of the University, and the remaining two (2) students who were in part three (3), had their bank accounts credited with money.

Leading the pack, from the Management Sciences were AYODELE Israel Aduragbemi with a CGPA of 5.00, ILORI Temitope Janet, a part three student (CGPA 4.95) and TIJANI Yusuf Olatunji (CGPA, 4.90) while ADELOWO Boluwatife (CGPA 4.90), IKEZOGWO Oluchi (CGPA 4.88), and OGBOBU Chukwufunmnanya (CGPA 4.79) are from the Electrical Electronics.

Others, from Computer Science, who also benefitted from the ETISALAT largess include THOMPSON Ajayi (4.56), KEHINDE Emmanuel (4.51), OSUNKUNLE Olarewaju (4.43) and AFOLABI Michael (4.43).

 The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Bamitale Omole, who was represented by the Provost, Postgraduate College, Professor Charles Akanbi, commended the students for their brilliance and urged them to keep their heads much higher in the pursuit of academic excellence and laurels.

Thanking ETISALAT for its gesture, the Vice-Chancellor implored them to do much more by increasing the number of beneficiaries.
