OAU accounting students fight over financial report
A parliamentary sitting, expected to assess the financial status of the Accounting Students Association, (ACA), Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State chapter, ended in a fiasco.
According to eyewitnesses, the Accounting Students Representative Council (ASRC), had summoned the association's president, Vincent Adebola, when the fracas occurred.
During the president's presentation, some members of the parliament felt dissatisfied and interrupted him, while his supporters, reportedly, defended him.
When contacted on the telephone, the president said, "The issue is that we were there to present the financial report of our summit, but, in the process of presenting the report, there were a lot of interruption from the members of the ASRC. It was just a minor issue and we were able to resolve it and everything has been settled.
"There was nothing like a fight. I was on the floor to represent the generality of Management and Accounting students' interests in the House, and I deserve to be respected, because I wasn't accused of any misappropriation of funds."
