The authorities of  the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State have announced the re-opening of the institution after its closure in June due to students' protest.

Olanrewaju said, "Following the closure of the University on Wednesday, 18th June, 2014, the Senate of the University again reconvened on Friday, 15th August, 2014, to announce the re-opening of the University. "We enjoin the students to face their studies squarely and conduct themselves in manners that will not be capable of truncating the re-adjusted academic calendar, wishing them a safe trip back to their beautiful campus."
