NUGA 2014: UNIPORT wins women’s 10,000m

Ngozichukwuka
Ogodo from University of Port Harcourt won the gold medal in the
10,000m female event, after Adedayo of the same university won the men’s
gold, the ongoing Nigerian Universities Games in Obafemi A wolowo
University, Ile-Ife.
While Ngozichukwuka won the gold, Stella
Ayanlokunrin from OAU won silver, and Rose Onah of the Anambra State
University won bronze.
In the men’s category of the 1,500m run,
Daniel Agboola of the University of Lagos won the gold medal in
4:07:12secs. Davidson Ohiji from Enugu State University of Science and
Technology won the silver in 4:07:88 seconds while Jacob Sunday from
University of Ilorin won the bronze after returning a time of 4:08:52
secs.
In the football event, Universities of Calabar, Jos, Lagos and Obafemi Awolowo have qualified for the semi final stage.
University of Jos defeated University of
Benin, 3-1 to qualify for the semi-final while University of Calabar
defeated University of Nigeria, Nsukka 1-0.
