Don’t be harsh on your children, parents warned

Akin-Alamu said this during a press conference ahead of the group’s television programmes, Kingdom America TV and Europe TV on Thursday in Lagos.

The Empowerment Centre is the international headquarters of Empowerment House and Kingdom Africa Multi-dimensional organisation which works to empower lives and transform the society.

According to him, activities like watching television and attending relationship courses help to build open-mindedness and unity in the family.

He said, “Many parents today fail because they lack understanding. They don’t have tolerance for each other in the family. The children are not given enough freedom. In fact, many parents believe watching television together with the kids would cause disrespect, but it is not so.

“Attending the empowerment college is another vision that would help relationships and life management. Television programmes like KA TV, which offers family friendly content with a very high moral standard, can be associated with.”

He also urged parents to maximise opportunities that come their way, noting that 2013 would be a year of abundance.

“We enjoin all Nigerians to prepare for door of opportunities that is about to open. We trust that in this year God is set to open doors of breakthrough, abundance and success for all families,” he added.
