African Pharmaceutical Forum elects Nigerian as president
This was made known in a statement by the secretary of the group, Elijah Mohammed, on Tuesday.
According to him, the election was held at the IPF Centennial Congress which took place in Amsterdam, Netherlands with participants from over 100 countries cutting across all continents.
He said, “APF who participated in the programme had its Annual General Meeting with various African countries’ representatives in attendance. At the end of the AGM, the following officers were elected to run the affairs of the forum: Anthony Akhimien, Nigeria, President; Frank Boateng, Ghana, Vice-President; Mamodou Ndiade, Senegal, Executive Member; Jocelyn Chaibva, Zimbabwe, Executive Member/Editor-in-Chief; Didier Mouliosm, Cameroun, Liaison Officer; Elijah Mohammed, Nigeria, Honourable Secretary.”
He noted that the congress was to enlighten the participants on ways to enrich their career and the future of the pharmacy profession.
He added, “The congress offered participants an invaluable avenue to enrich their career while at the same time participating in the decision that would steer the future of pharmacy and health care around the world.
“The theme of the congress, ‘Improving Health through Responsible Medicine Use,’ calls on pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists to take their places as leaders in the health care team and do their part to usher in a new era of health care on global scale.”
