Cleric urges leaders to speed up projects
Adegoroye gave the advice during a press conference to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the church on Wednesday in Lagos.
He warned leaders to fear God in their activities, noting that a good leader does not need much time before making impact on the society.
He said, “What can be done within four years will be felt within two years. Giving seven years to anybody will come like a thief in the night. Whoever is in leadership position must do whatever is necessary fast because we are not the owners of our lives.
“What you cannot do within two years you can hardly do quickly. Leaders must know that God can take our lives anytime. Whenever we are elected as leaders, we must do whatever that is needed to be done quickly.”
The cleric maintained that it was necessary for leaders to direct their efforts towards the continuous development of the country.
He added, “What we have been seeing is that they (leaders) use their first term in office well and do their best while they relax when elected for second term.”
“Change must be continuous. Leadership in the country vis – a – vis in the church should change hand to aid development.”
