Blue House wins Faith Academy inter-house
Blue House on Saturday, emerged as the winner of an annual inter-house athletics and games competition organised by Faith Academy, Ota, Ogun state.
Other winners in the competition are Red house (second); Green House (third) and Yellow House (4th).
Blue house won the competition after having 30 gold medals, 24 silvers and 20 bronze in Table tennis, volley ball, basket ball, handball, football, high jump, and race against Red and Green house which had 24 and 18 gold medals respectively.
The competition was graced by dignitaries among who are the wife of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, Chibuike, who kicked off the competition.
According to the principal of the school, the competition is to build a spirit of sportsmanship in the pupils.
He said, “As competitors, they must realise that everybody is competing for the same prize but only a few of necessity win. Temperance is therefore the key to healthy competitions. Put in your best to win with confidence and high hopes that you are going to be the winner because nobody is allergic to finishing line.”
The chairman of the occasion, Mr. Fred Chiazor, noted that pupils would be healthier if they are allowed to participate in sporting activities.
