Presidential aide preaches ethics for devt
Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Ethics and Values, Dr. Sarah Jubril, has urged governors, lawmakers and non-governmental organisations to endeavour to comply with the nation’s development ethos.
Jubril stated this at a seminar entitled ‘Economic Development through Proper Ethics and Value Practices’, organised by the Rotary International, District 9110 in Lagos on Wednesday.
She said, “Everyone in the country, be it in the Senate, House of Representatives, NGOs and individuals must know that the issue of vilification of ethics is dangerous to the development of this country and it is this issue of breach of ethics that is actually bringing about disintegration we are talking about.”
She also called for proper orientation and education of the citizenry, noting that they are key elements in the growth of the country.
According to her, the nation cannot forge ahead without self policing and regulation by its citzens.
Also, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, who was represented by Mr. Dare Ogundare, noted that there would be no development if corruption and other criminal activities prevailed in the country.
