Leaders condemn attack on Uduaghan
Delta State leaders, under the aegis of The People’s Movement, have criticised the Ndokwa Youth Elite Forum for attempting to rubbish Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in its petition to President Goodluck Jonathan.
A statement by the Director of Communications of the TPM, Mrs. Ibifuro Tatua, on Tuesday accused the forum of attempting to destabilise the state.
The statement said, “The governor is performing and the people are fully behind him. His style may not have impressed some new generation. The petition is a malicious one aimed at tarnishing the image, personality, character and hard-earned integrity of the governor. The governor is not reckless as projected by the youth.
“Delta State is not misusing the derivation fund, as 50 per cent of it is allocated to DESOPADEC. The commission has since been recording laudable results in terms of development.”
It stressed that N149bn was released to oil-producing communities in the state through the commission to enable it to perform and fulfill its mandate to the people as well as for development projects in the last five years.
