Apprentice wins Ofala festival promo car
A 22-year-old apprentice, Nworie Elijah, has won a brand new Toyota Corolla 2012 model, in the special Glo Ofala Sim raffle draw held at the Ime-Obi Palace.
According to a statement on Monday, the 2012 edition of Ofala Festival ended on Saturday at the palace of the Obi of Onitsha.
During the festival, age grades dressed in different traditional attire danced to the beat of the drums and gongs.
They competed for the mouth-watering prizes provided by Globacom to enhance the age grade development of the town.
Elijah, who was excited with his new status, said he never believed he could win a brand new car as big as a Toyota Corolla in his life.
In the age grade processions for 60 years and above category, Anuafulo Age Grade came first with a prize of N100, 000. Ezudimkpa and Edemili Age grades which came second and third, won N75,000 and N50, 000 respectively.
The Obi of Onitsha, Alfred Achebe, hailed Globacom's commitment to the festival.
