2,279 Corps Members Take Oath Of Allegiance In Lagos

A total of 2279 corps members for the 2017 batch B Stream II service year have sworn to the mandatory oath of allegiance to signal the commencement of a three-week orientation course programme in Lagos.
The corps members who were deployed to Lagos State for the one year service comprise of 992 males and 1287 females.
At the swearing-in ceremony which held at the temporary orientation camp ground in iyana Ipaja on Thursday, the State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode in his welcome address congratulated the corps members for the successful completion of their individual academic programmes.
Represented by Mr. Oluseye Oladejo, the Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-government Relations, Ambode urged the corps members to consider the service year as a call to National Service and sacrifice, saying that their commitment to the success and sustenance of the scheme becomes important.
He said:"I charge you to make conscientious efforts to contribute to these great feats during your National Service through selfless commitment, dedication and active participation in all activities during the service year.
"I implore you to participate actively in all camp activities and make good use of this orientation course to equip yourselves with the requisite attitude, knowledge and skills, " Ambode added.
The State Coordinator, Prince Mohammed Momoh expressed appreciation to the governor for his fatherly roles and support for the scheme in the state.
Speaking further he also acknowledged the supportive roles of the Ministry Of Special Duties as the supervising organ of the state and assured the governor of the good conduct of the corps members since arrival.
The highlight of the ceremony was the administration of oath conducted by the Chief Judge Of Lagos State, Honourable Justice Opeyemi Oke.
