2019: Minister Distributes Buhari's Campaign Face Caps at FEC Meeting
Innocent Oweh, Abuja
The Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari started on a bright note on Wednesday, despite the statement by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo advising Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019.
The meeting which started at about 11:am saw some members of Buhari's cabinet wearing branded face caps with inscription, "Continuity '19: Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo"
They wore it in apparent show of solidarity and support for a possible second term bid of their principal.
Their solidarity came barely 24 hours after Obasanjo advised President Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019.
Minister of Communications, Adebayor Shittu, who was recently appointed as the South West Campaign Coordinator of the Buhari Support Group(BSG) is believed to be behind the mass production of the face caps.
He was seen putting on one of the face caps as well.
He brought the caps to the Council Chambers packed in a 'Ghana-must-go' bag which he immediately handled over to officers inside the chamber for onward distribution to other cabinet ministers.
