Magistrate Olusola Aluko of an Osogbo Magistrate court yesterday
sentenced a 45 year old Bamidele Tijani to three years imprisonment
for raping a minor.
The convict was said to have raped a 10year Adewale Nafisat on
December 19, 2013 at Isale Osun Area, Osogbo.
Police prosecutor, Mr. Fagboyinbo Abiodun told the court that the
offence committed by the convict was contrary to and punishable under
section 218 of the criminal code.
However, Tijani had admitted guilty of the offence of rape since the
day of arraignment.
Magistrate Aluko thereby, sentenced the convict to three years
imprisonment without an option of fine.
Aluko said that the jail tern should run consequently from December
19, 2013 when the convict was first arraigned.
