ACT wants youths to embrace anti-corruption agenda

A youth political pressure group, Advocates for Collective Transformation (ACT), has called on Nigerian youths to key into ongoing anti corruption campaign of the Federal Government.

ACT National President, Comrade Oluwatayo Fashogbon and National Secretary, Isaac Ifetoluwa Ajayi in a statement said if all youths shun corruption and its vices, President Mohammedu Buhari campaign for a corrupt free country will be achieved.

The group said youths in the country must brace up to fight corruption in every sector they belong in the nation.

"We must begin to see the anti corruption project as a forward to Nigeria's predicament, today, Nigeria's youths are the major victims of corruption, the Boko Haram insurgency has killed more youths than ever, unemployment ravages us, our collective wealth have been stolen and mismanaged.

"Nigerian soldiers combating the Boko Haram insurgency daily with sweat and blood are youths; while these selfless soldiers sleeps in bushes and cold camps, some unpatriotic Nigerians were sharing billions of dollars met to equip our soldiers with sophisticated weapons.

ACT however  appeal to young people in various arms of government and positions of authorities to be a worthy role model to this generation.

"We are appealing to the youths to see anti-corruption crusade as a collective responsibility because our  future is only secured if we grind corruption to a halt in our country.



"At every sector of the society, youths must be seen as anti corruption agents, engaging and promoting corruption and its vices will only endanger our brim future," the group further said.


ACT also urges Nigerian Youths to learn from  Mr. President  exemplary character of honesty and integrity in building up positive and profitable career in their chosen profession.

"Youths must begin to shun illegal means of acquiring wealth and beginning to work on our values and moral codes, nothing pays like hard work.

"We should all learn to take justice with clean hands, while we fight hard to retrieve our national wealth from greedy politicians, we must try our best to make the country prove by remaining incorruptible too as Nigerian youths.

The group stressed that youths must shun the notion of cheating the system for selfish benefits, the task to build a greater Nigeria rest on the positive power of the youths.
