The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Thursday, said no President has the power to "heal" Nigeria.
He said this during a special Holy Ghost service at the new crusade ground, beside All Souls Church, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
According to him, Head of States can only try their best, only God possessed the needed power to transform.
The pastor, while speaking on the theme, 'The right hand of God', gave reasons for the uniqueness of God's power.
He said, "The right of God is a hand of power. The right hand is a hand for double portion of blessings. Right hand is a place for the sheep and left for goat.
"It is only God that can get things done. Whatever human feels is impossible is easily done by God.
"I was joking with a former Head of State in this country (Nigeria). I asked who is more powerful? The president or pastor? He (Head of State) said the President. He said if the President imposes a curfew the pastor cannot worship, operate or hold programmes. I told him that the president cannot make the lame to walk or heal a lepper. He can't even heal the people of his country or his country."
During the service, both the pastors and congregation interceded and prayed for the growth of OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun State and Nigeria.
While interceding for Ile-Ife, Pastor Odun Orioke, said sins have reduced in the ancient city, urging people to stop 'cursing' Governor Rauf Aregbesola for the economic hardship witnessed in the state.
It would be recalled that workers in Osun State are currently groaning over unpaid salaries among other challenges.
The cleric commended the Ooni for his developmental plans and refusal to yield to criticism for kneeling to praise God.
He said, "We have another king (Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II) that is loved by everyone, and he really started well. When we, under Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), organised a programme for him, he initially wanted to dance but other monarchs stopped him.
"After a time, he (Ooni) said 'I was going to stand up and worship my God' and suddenly, he started worshipping with us. At that thanksgiving service, he later came out to dance and was criticised but he replied that 'no Ooni is greater than God. No god is greater that God of all gods."
"He (Ooni) has very good intentions for Ile-Ife and we pray that he will not be frustrated. I have always told people to stop cursing our Governor Aregbesola because when they do, they are cursing the land. God needs to raise help for the Governor and the State. We should keep praying to God to rise and guide the Governor."
On his part, Pastor Oluwadamilare Adeboye, asked Nigerians not to stop praying for the mercy of God on the country.
He noted that the 'right hand' of God was needed for the country to grow at a desired rate.
"Every thing, including Nigeria needs the right hand of God for progress," he added.
Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Prof. Bamitale Omole, testified that God's intervention remained a major drive for the university's growth.
"Although we have challenges, God has been faithful to us. At times, there are crisis and shut down of the school but God has proved to be stronger in all ramifications. I pray that God that has seen OAU through challenges for so many years won't leave it," he said.
The programme was organised by the OAU Christian Mobilisation Committee to usher in the new year for the University community, Ile-Ife and its environs.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Bamitale Omole, led other Principal Officers of the University, Provosts of Colleges, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments and other stakeholders to receive pastor Adeboye.
Earlier, the entire University community converged at the Amphitheatre of the Oduduwa Hall of the University for its annual non-denominational thanksgiving service spiced with spiritual songs and special messages from the Bible.
