Empower yourselves through internet business, youths advised
The Vice Chancellor of America Internet Business School, Dr. Ope Banwo, has said that one of the most reliable means for youths to make money and sustain a living was by exploring opportunities in internet business.
Banwo said this while speaking at the Nigeria Internet Business Conference, organised to teach youths how to generate legal money on the internet at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State
According to him, there was need for youths to find an alternative means of sustenance because of the archaic syllabus usage in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
He said, "Nigeria varsity system syllabus is archaic and misused. Why are we not having E-commerce, Freelancer, Blogging, Affiliate Marketing included in the Nigeria University syllabus? As the internet is becoming larger, youths are supposed to be growing with it. But otherwise is what we have in Nigeria, even youths that grew with the internet used it on illegal businesses."
To put-in his quota to online business development, Ope Banwo, inaugurated an internet business group, called Netpreneur Club at the OAU, with Mr. Lukmon Fasasi, emerging as its president.
Meanwhile, the convener of the Young Shall Grow (YSG) initiative, Dare Eluyemi, has said that youths in Nigeria needed adequate intellectual support because of the 'unfavorable" situation they are faced with.
Dare, who spoke at 10th anniversary of the group and launching of his book titled, 'Exceptional Performance', said, "Raising visionary and proficient leaders who can drive outstanding growth and development begins with appropriate guidance and counseling of the youths."
