One die in Lekki-Ajah Expressway ‎Accident



The Chief Executive Officer of H2 Chicken, Jamiu Jamiu, was last week hit by a truck driver on Lekki-Ajah Expressway.

According reports, Jamiu, who was on a power bike died few minutes after being hit on Thursday.

The accident occurred at Igbo Efon RoundAbout near Osapa London, Lekki about 10am.

It was gathered that the deceased had finished supplying frozen foods to his clients when the accident occurred.

When the truck driver hit Jamiu, his  power bike reportedly somersaulted with Jamiu and his bike going separate ways.

It was learnt that Jamiu died after dictating the phone number of his wife in the hospital during the rescue operation.

The late Jamiu's remains were interred at a cemetery in Agege last night after a Janaza led by Ustaz Saheed Salman.

The deceased, our correspondent, gathered was survived by two kids, a wife, mother, father and other relatives.

"The helmet he had on him saved only his head and upper parts of his body. ‎The damage was more on the lower parts of his body, especially the wrist joint," one of the deceased friend said.

The deceased friend also said that the driver of the truck, that hit the deceased was arrested and detained at Ilasan Police Station.

However, ‎the Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit (MSSN Lagos) has commiserated with family and colleagues of the deceased.

The Amir of the Society, Mallam Saheed Ashafa, in a condolence message admonished other Muslims to examine their deeds daily. 

Also, a former President of Council of Higher Institutions (COHI), Lagos , Mr. Sulaimon Dhikrullah, said, "He (Jamiu) left with several deals on run. He left with families and children at home.
He left nursing a future filled with brightness and hope. ‎ He left amidst the young just like no one could have thought."

On his part, Director, Centre for Human Rectitude, Mr. Yusuf Jimoh, described the deceased as ‎an epitome of diligence and an encyclopedia of talents.

He added, "We all know he stopped his medical profession to embark on a mission of providing halal and healthy food for the people of the world.

"He was on this wondrous mission he had an accident that claimed his life.‎ A young, vibrant, gentle, outspoken and extremely intelligent young man has left us. He loved his wife and two kids passionately. There is nothing he would say without mentioning them."

Among the dignitaries at the burial were a former Amir of MSSN Lagos, Mallam Badrudeen Qosim, members of MSSN Lagos Mainland, Bariga and Shomolu among others.
