OAU unveils logo, mascot for NUGA
The host of the 2013 Nigerian Universities Games, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has unveiled the logo and mascot for the tournament which is scheduled to hold from October 3 to 13.
According to the Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Prof. Bamitale Omole, the authorities of the university have made arrangements and put final touches to renovation and upgrading of facilities that would be used for the 24th edition of the NUGA competition.
He said the university was ready to make NUGA achieve its aims of creating, developing and discovering new talents in all the sporting events.
He said, “We have hosted two earlier editions of NUGA championships in 1970 and in 1984 respectively but this year’s edition holding in October will be the best NUGA ever in the history of this country. We have done some renovations and consummations on all the facilities, most especially the IAAD-compliant swimming pool and tartan track which are second to none in Nigeria.”
