Wema donates fire service station to school

Wema Bank Nigeria Plc has donated a fire service building to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

The building, which costs millions of naira, was donated to the school on Thursday.

The Zonal Manager, Wema Bank, Osun State, Mr. Oluwasegun Olawepo, said the donation was to show the bank’s dedication to developing academic communities.

He said, “This is one of our several CSR projects. We feel it is appropriate to reward our community. It is always good to be in a serene environment and that can only be guaranteed through activities like this.

“It costs us millions of naira and months to complete the building. We are proud to be associated with OAU. It is peaceful and accommodating for banking operations.”

Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Bamitale Omole, had commended the management of the bank, adding the fire service would enhance security in the institution.
