Cleric urges govt to develop infrastructure

General Evangelist, Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Prophet Kayode Abiara, has advised government at all levels to develop infrastructure for the country to grow.

The cleric gave the advice in a statement on Thursday, to herald the 27th anniversary of the CAC Agbala Itura, Ile-Epo, Oke-Odo, Agege, Lagos.

He said, “Power supply in the country is not yet stable. In the Western world they have constant power supply. Many of our roads have become death traps. Thousands of lives are being lost on them. The government should realise that people are assets to the nation, hence the need for urgent action. All the arms of government should see to the urgent repairs of our roads.”

He also urged leaders to emulate what was being done to develop other countries to provide solution to the challenges confronting Nigeria.

He said, “Our leaders travel abroad and they see these things. They should borrow ideas from the Western world to make life easier for the masses.

“The government should partner relevant organisations to move the country forward.

“Federal Government should speed up action on making fuel accessible to the masses at the lowest possible price. People buy fuel at high price and the fuel is wasted on the road due to traffic jam.”

Abiara advised governments to provide empowerment programmes to tackle unemployment in the country.

“Unemployment is another big issue that needs quick attention. Many youths are wandering about while some of them have gone into armed robbery and fraudulent practices. I advice governments to find a lasting solution to this problem,” he said.
