The burial plans for 34-year-old Ehime Aikhomu and Martin Alade, an 18-year-old pupil, who lost their lives in the Dana plane crash have been announced.
Aikhomu, who was survived by his daughter, Iguehi; son, Ehimare; and wife, Titilayo, will have his service of songs on Monday (today) at the Landmark, Water Corporation Road off Ligali Ayorinde Street, Victorial Island, Lagos by 6pm.
His burial has been scheduled to hold by 10am on Tuesday (tomorrow), at the Redeemed Christain Church of God, Jide Oki Street, off Ligali Ayorinde Street, Victorial Island, Lagos.
Titilayo, while lamenting the death of her husband on Sunday in an obituary, published in a national newspaper, said, “My Ehime, we promised we would be together forever, forever came too soon.”
Also, Martin’s father, John, who spoke with our correspondent on Sunday, said the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital had given him the clearance to collect his son’s corpse.
Abuja-based Martin boarded the flight to Lagos in order to write the Covenant University’s post UTME slated for Ota, Ogun State, last Monday.
John said, “The LASUTH authorities have given us the clearance to pick his body. They collected all the necessary samples for the DNA test and they gave us the clearance today after carrying out all the necessary tests.
“Arrangements are on the way for his burial and God willing he would be buried on Wednesday.”
John, who did not disclose where the deceased would be buried described his death as a “big loss”.
He said, “He just finished his West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination and was even planning to write the NECO SSCE starting later this month.
“Martin’s death is a big tragedy to me. He is my first child. I would miss everything about him. He was such a cool, gentle and confident son.”
