The Registrar of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife , Dotun Awoyemi, has appealed to protesting and striking workers of the institution to sheath their swords.

Awoyemi, during an interaction with our correspondent on Saturday, also insisted that the university authorities can not ask students to resume amidst protest.

‎"We don't want violence‎, it is not our wish to record any casualty. We are ready to dialogue for peace to reign and also plead with parents to  join us in appealing to the workers."

He, however, explained that students will be asked to resume as soon as the workers stop protesting.

It would be recalled that ‎workers under the aegis of Non-academic Staff Union and Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, OAU branches
