Reconciliation Paramount to 2014 Electoral Victory for APC, Says Adelabu

All Progressive Congress (APC) party chairmen from all 16 local government areas in Ekiti State were Wednesday urged to toe the line of reconciliation with the aggrieved party members and be more aggressive in their membership drives to ensure total victory for the party in the forthcoming election.
The state’s Deputy Governor Prof Modupe Adelabu gave the charge at a parley with local chapter chairmen of the party in her office in Ado-Ekiti.
She urged them not to allow any divisive tendencies in their the ranks but extend the hands of fellowship to all and sundry, including perceived opposition members and aggrieved party men in order for the APC to achieve a resounding victory at the governorship election billed for April 2014.
Adelabu, who noted that the good works of Governor Kayode Fayemi since assumption of office has already endeared him to the people, added: "The governor’s perspective of the 2014 electoral victory was beyond winning, but more of uniting the entire Ekiti under a progressive platform that will eventually unseat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the federal level. We need to re-strategize and embark on mobilization of members at their various local government areas to ensure a landslide victory for the APC and the incumbent governor."
According to her, the party was aiming at recording more than 90 per cent of the votes across the state to foreclose any legal contest from the opposition after the polls.
In his remark, the APC chair in Ado-Ekiti Local Government Area, Pa David Olatunji Adigun, who led his counterparts to the parley, said there was no bickering whatsoever among the rank and file of the party as being speculated in some quarters.
He affirmed that all the chairmen have faith in the leadership style of Governor Fayemi and his deputy, promising that the party will record success in the 2014 election.
According to the party chieftain, the parley with the deputy governor was to enable party leaders from the council areas renew and express their unalloyed support for the Fayemi-led administration and to assure the governor of their preparedness to work amicably and assiduously for the APC victory.
At the parley were: Special Adviser to the Deputy Governor Bamitale Oguntoyinbo; Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor of Party Matters Kayode Alakinyede; councils’ party chiefs Ilori Israel (Oye); Yemi Ibiloye (Ekiti West); Sesan Iyunade (Ikole); Jekoyemi Bankole (Ijero); Deji Oguntuase (Efon) and Ajijolaiye Ganiyu (Gbonyin).
Others were: Egunjobi Kayode (Ise/Orun); Chief S.A. Olabintin (Ekiti Southwest); Chief Famojun Ayodele (Emure); Elder Idowu Aladejebi (Ikere) and Wale Aina (Moba); Olofinbiyi C.O. (Ido/Osi).
